The Gaylesville Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1976. We are members of The Cherokee County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments.
Our Department is made up of fourteen dedicated men and women from the Gaylesville, Alabama area. Our coverage area is a five mile radius from our firehall and we also assist Broomtown, Cedar Bluff, and Tuckers Chapel Fire Departments in Alabama and Chattoogaville Fire Department in Georgia. We have three engines. The green and white pumper is our Engine 1402 and it is a 1969 Mack. The red pumper is our Engine 1401and it is a 2005 International. The smaller truck is our Engine 1403 also known as our Brush Truck and it is a 1984 Chevy Dually 4x4.
